Abstract:

Fishing is a popular activity that has been around for thousands of a years. Fishing is a time-honored activity with deep cultural and economic significance, yet its management often relies on traditional, manual processes prone to inefficiencies and inaccuracies. Manual record-keeping, outdated financial tracking, and limited integration of modern tools like weather forecasting create operational challenges, regulatory risks, and safety concerns. To address these issues, the Fishing Agency Management System has been developed to modernize fishing agency operations. Fishing agency is designed to automate core management functions, including record-keeping, financial tracking, agent management, and weather forecasting. The system provides a comprehensive dashboard displaying key metrics such as total payments, sales, unpaid advances, team records, and maintenance statuses. It streamlines operations by allowing administrators to manage user accounts, agent details, maintenance requests, and cash advances efficiently. Advanced features such as cash advance reports, payment receipts, and fish catch records ensure greater transparency and traceability, essential for regulatory compliance and sustainable practices. Weather forecasting for Bantayan, Central Visayas, Philippines, is integrated into the system to enhance safety by providing timely updates for fishing expeditions. The automation of processes like cash advance tracking and maintenance requests minimizes financial discrepancies, reduces errors, and expedites issue resolution, thereby improving fleet reliability and operational efficiency. Fishing agency benefits multiple stakeholders. Fishing business owners gain tools to optimize operations, improve financial accuracy, and reduce manual labor. Agents and fisheries experience streamlined processes for payments and safer operations through real-time weather data. Assistants and helpers benefit from simplified agent and maintenance management, while researchers can use FAMS as a reference for future developments in fisheries management systems. Ultimately, the system supports the broader community by enabling sustainable fishery practices through improved operational efficiency and resource allocation. Fishing agency is a pivotal step towards modernizing the fishing industry, ensuring safety, sustainability, and growth.
